I didnt get to go play today :(

Its stampin day, but I didnt get to go and play today. I am sooo bummed. Our truck is still sick and it was a huge big deal with sharing the van so I just didnt go. Its been so long since I have even picked up a stamp I am having a hard time getting the Mojo greased up again. Thankfully this is a card that I had put together prior to vacation. So I have SOMETHING to show you.

Heather is home sick today. She threw up all night last night and of course that made both of us miserable today. Not to mention that I think I am suffering from vacation let down. I feel like pigpen from from Charlie Brown, carrying a little gray cloud around with me. Tho--I did shower this morning, so its not a dirt cloud.

Hope that YOU are doing ok.

Were Home!

"No girls, you dont need to put on your bathing suits, cause we are just going down to LOOK at the beach, maybe walk a bit, maybe pick up some shells, but we are NOT going in the water."

...minutes pass...

"Okay, fine--you can WALK in the water."

...more minutes pass...

"Are you insane?? Is that water not FREEZING?? Well good grief, give me your shoes... No, whats the point of taking off your jacket now? You are soaking wet!"

...more minutes....

Two children extremely happy to be in the water---who am I to stop them?

Vacation was absolutely FABULOUS! We had the most magnificant time! The weather was a bit cool, but it was still awesome to be on the beach and away from everyday life for a few days!

This is how I preferred to experience the beach.
And THIS is how my crazy family took it all in!

Might I enlighten you with the fact that the water is only about 55° and its only about 77° outside, with a North wind that could freeze snot--so the temps were not exactly toasty! I DID venture out into the waves one afternoon and nearly froze myself to the bone. I was SERIOUSLY trying the method of freezing one's butt off, it didnt work.

Later that afternoon as we were having a picnic lunch on the beach the birds swarmed us like they were vultures and we were about to kick the bucket. They litterally hovered over us waiting for us to spare a Dorito or a bit of our ham sandwiches. We didnt share even a bit--but they certainly intimidated us.

We had some amazing food there! The seafood was of course FANTASTIC! And we sampled it ALL!

One of our days was spent in Savannah, learning history, seeing sites and of course sampling MORE food! Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House was amazing! The food was all country and there was so much of it, it even made US sink back into our shoes.
We didnt get to eat at Paula Dean's famous restaraunt, but we did go by there and check the place out. The smells were divine and it was neat to peak in.

I wont bore you to tears with all of the different shots of the famous buildings we got, but I thought this pic was especially cool. This front door was used in the movie FOREST GUMP. You know when the mom is trying to get Forest accepted into the school system? This is the front stoop that Forest waited for his mother. We of course saw the place where he sat waiting for the bus as well. They had removed the parkbench, but the scenery was certainly familiar.

Hannah and I ventured to the top of the lighthouse at Tybee Island. 178 steps UP and 178 steps DOWN! It was a fantastic site, but WHEW! A LOT of steps for this hefalump to make!

One of the most amazing and breathtaking views in the whole city was the Cathedral. The architecture of this building is simply gorgeous!

Even tho we are not of the Catholic faith, we each lit a candle and said a prayer. It was sooo beautiful there.
Like I said I wont bore you with history--but lets just say I have over 200 pics from the trip. Including those I took of Heather and I's haunted tour of the city. Walking around the nations most haunted city after dark was VERY exciting!
We are home now and slowly trying to gather ourselves to resume life.

Blessings for healing

This card is dedicated to Marilyn. She is having surgery today. ((HUGS)) I didnt send her THIS card cause...well for one...I made at her house. And for two....they are her stamps! But I so wanted her to know I was thinking of her today.

Isnt this a GREAT saying for the inside?
HEALING...A journey traveled one step at a time.
I just thought that was soooo neat!!
I am just busy today trying to gather my thoughts. What do we need to take to the beach, what do we need to have done here at the house? What about pets...blah blah blah.
HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY! Are YOU wearing GREEN?

Inky Antics...so CUTE!

I looove this image. And my idea to kind of do it in a monotone color I think works beautifully. Hard to tell but I just highlighted the image in porceline blue and added a few black accents. I think it goes fabulously with the paper!

WOOHOOO! I am soooo excited! Because at this time next week we will be on the beach. Basking in the sun and enjoying our Spring Break! WOOOHOOOO!

Boot Camp for the Biggest Loser

Though I think when they are speaking of LOSER in these terms --- they must be thinking something different than I am. Cause I am thinking the big ole {L} on the forehead! Anyways. After surfing through several blogs the other day--several people mentioned that this was the video they worked out to. So...me--being the savvy shopper than I am....went online and found me a used one and ordered it. Couldnt wait to warm it up in the DVD player. I did it! It was great! I was sweating like a dog and my heart rate was way up there. I felt GOOOOD. I was soo on a roll. As the day progressed tho, my body surely disagreed. And as I graduated from yesterday to today my body is crying out in pain with every step! Now mind you...I ALSO went bowling last night AND today....which, if youre a hefalump like me...that WITHIN itself is crazy enough. So anyways...I wanted to tell you...if you are just dieing for something to make you notice how many muscles you have in your body, this video is PERFECT! No honest, its a really good kind of pain. (HA! Like THAT isnt an oxymoron!!)

So go...getchya one. YOU KNOW YOU WANTA FEEL THE BURN!!!! And I am NOT talking about the burn that I feel when I bowl...ya know the friction in between my thighs is enough to set a fire!

Hope your Saturday is as magnificant as mine is!!!

Mojo Mon--er I mean Saturday!

Welcome to Mojo MONDAY Saturday! I am a little behind in posting but I wanted to show you that I DID participate!!! I had to change up the eyelets a little, so that they would show up. But I loooove these colors together. And of course another digi by CC Designs.

I hope you are out playing with your family today!

Blurry...but perfect

OK....so I could have cheated on the taggin...and just posted the pics I wanted to but I didnt! But I couldnt resist sharing these two pics with you too. Twink just loooooves it when Hannah visits Build A Bear cause it means she gets new accessories. Like these hip sun glasses. Dont you think pink is her color??

And she REALLY is enjoying her new Hello Kitty Sofa. "Does this color make me look fat?"

Photobucket

Taggin!!!!

LORI tagged me!!! And since I ALWAYS look for an excuse to post pics of my princess, this is one tag I will do!!

Here's how it works: The instruction is to go into my photo collection, take the fourth folder and the fourth picture in that folder and explain it. Then tag four more bloggers to do the same.

This is Twinkle Bella. She is my ummm...I guess she is almost 2 year old cat. This is of her when she was still pretty young. But this is her---basking in the sunlight on her pink fur covered window seat. I love it cause when she sleeps, she SLEEPS! Anyone who knows...knows I think she hung the moon and the stars. And yes, I am quite certain of it!

And here we go...I am gonna tag some peoples that I have never tagged before!!!

I think we found it!!

A few weeks ago I got to visit my darling friend in her home and she gave me free reign in her stamp room!!! Lets just say---this chick is AMAZINGLY talented, but whew! She was a brave one for entering her room with the intent to create.

THIS, is her WORK space. Yes, that little 2x2 space is where he mojo flows.

Now mind you in the middle of the room there is hardly room for another person to stand, let alone for someone whom has just finished surgery and has a tough time getting around.

She has tooooons of GREAT GREAT toys but with all of it stacked high it was really hard to even KNOW what she had, let alone use it.

She has an incredible fetish for Iris Carts and loooves to use them. I love them too...but they seemed to be taking up lots of SPACE.

Then she had this MONGO computer chest in there. A great piece of furniture, but it sooo didnt work in this little room.

Loook!!!! She DOES have a space there for two people to work! Just gotta get IN there!

And here we are after!!!! I made curtains for the window that matched her walls.

We moved the big computer chest out and eventually she will get a smaller monitor for her computer. For now it is simple to use at her second work station. Just slide the keyboard out of the way--and whala, perfect place for friends (aka ME) to play too!

She kept her darling Iris Carts too. We havent had a chance to go through each and every embellishment drawer, but she is happy to have some things the same.

This was the book case that was in front of work station 2, now it is easy to get to!!
Up top of the cabinets are more of these little canvas bins that we put extra stuff that she wants to alter and wants to keep, but doesnt necessarily need at a finger touch.

And I moved the paper to the dresser. It shares the top with the Big Shot.

I was able to display all of her knicky knacks up high. And I also hung (which now I see are very crooked) magnetic strips up to house her Nestabilities.

Now, not only does she have 2 workspaces, but all of her buttons and baubles and other small embellishments are within an arms reach.

Oh darn! I forgot to take a pic of her ribbon drawer. She has been busting her tail with wrapping ribbon on bobbins. Her drawer looks fabulous!!!

And now, here is a cozy place for the mojo to flow. Look we found THE counter top!!!
Thank you Jeanine for the honor to destroy er I mean reorganize your space. You are the bestest and I cherish everything about you!

Spring---oh Spring! Where are YOU?

Just a simple card that says: Wishing you all the wonderful gifts of spring.

I wish there was a way to enclose a flower inside a card and keep it looking radiant. My yard has dafodils and tulips popping up EVERYWHERE. I loooove to stroll through and see them. Espcially since I wasnt the planter of these beautiful things. Last year we did a bunch of cleaning up of the flower beds and moved a lot of leaves. Well I guess that was all that some of these little babies needed cause they are making me look like I ACTUALLY have a green thumb. Which, trust me...I dont---I think I could find a way to kill a silk plant if I really tried. They line my flower beds beautifully. Nothing says GOD like a flower. No MAN could ever create such beauty. I can guarentee that.

Bella Bella!

Another St Pattys day card. Cant help but smile when ya see Bella! Her Shamrocks are all blinged out and she is looking GOOD! I put the Irish Blessing inside this card too. I just LOOOVE that saying.

Do you do anything special for St. Pattys Day? Not us. Usually I just try to get everyone out of the house with something green on so they dont have a torturous day at school/work. Maybe I should make Green Eggs and Ham or something festive like that for dinner. Hmmmm.....

Irish Blessing

On the inside of this card I printed out the Irish Blessing. It says:

Each Petal on the samrock
brings a wish your way. Good health, good luck & happiness
for today & every day.

Cute huh??

I hope that you are good today? Do you have spring fever as much as I do?

I love Bunny Season

This set is one I should own. Cause everytime I go to Marilyns house I use the snot out of it. Those rabbits are sooo pretty.

I dont think there is anything earth shattering that I should explain to you about this card. The image pretty much speaks for its self huh? I did pop the butterflies up a bit tho, before I added bling.

Its Saturday!! Dont forget to turn your clocks forward tonight. I HATE this switch. I usually dont have a problem going to bed early, but getting UP earlier kills me! So this just means that I am gonna wanta be in bed by eight and sleep til ten!! ARGH!!! Oh well, this DOES signal us that spring IS on its way!

Just STUFF

Many of you remember me making the CLOCK way back when for my dentist. Well I never delivered it! *gasp* But this week I finally went back for a cleaning and so I boxed it up and took it in!! I also made stuff for my hygentist and the receptionist, cause they are just SOOOO awesome to me. Especially since I HATE the dentist. I mean...really....Id rather go to the "lady" doctor than the dentist---it rates right up there with child birth thru my nose. But they have been so good to me and so understanding. So I wanted to express my gratitude. I loooove gifts that really dont cost much, but show a whole lot of love.

The appointments, I am proud to say all went great! Both the girls and I got clean bills of health! WOOOHOOOOOO! PRAISE GOD! Its been at least 20 years since I could walk out of the office without another appt in a few days to have an extraction or a root canal or a something. If there is one bit of advice that I wish I had heeded, it would be the one about taking care of my teeth.

Anyways....heres the little stuff I made for them.

I told you I was excited about making those note holders. So I made them each one of these. And blinged out a matching pen. I was gonna cover the pens too, but I thought thier colors were cool. And of course this is my favorite stamp set again. This time I just stamped little flowers on the note cards (instead of the monogram). I didnt know if the girls would leave them there at the office or not, so I wanted them to be universal.

I got these little candle tins last year when KMart was going out of business. They are Martha Stewart. They came four to a package and they smell soooooooooo good! This one is the green one and then the other set I made was Yellow and Orange. I loved them cause they were truly just PLAIN tins, I didnt have to cover up or alter them at all. (I like EASY).

At the beginning of the year Hannah was required to have four tennis balls---so that they could put em on the bottom of the chairs to keep the noise level down and also to protect the floors in the class room. The containers were just itching for SOMETHING to be done with them.--I just KNEW I could find SOMETHING to make out of them. And I FINALLY did (before giving up and throwing them away)! They hold one package of Girl Scout's Thin Mints PERFECTLY! I stuffed in one package and some shiney Easter Grass and whala!!!

So how are YOU today my friend?? I hope that you are doing fantastic and have huge plans for the weekend. Us? We are hoping to catch up on a little family bonding. We MIGHT actually make it into the weekend without anyone being sick. *GASP* Imagine that concept! Hannah is still finishing up her antibiotics, but seems that MAYBE, just MAYBE she has kicked the strep thing this time? Maybe??

So Ive been thinking.....maybe its time fer another game of some sorts. What do you all think?? Hmmmm.........{enter "deep in thought" look here}
Well for now--go and be blessed! Enjoy your day!!!!!

Hey friends...I am still out here. But I my brain seems to have gone on vacation for the morning. I have misplaced my photo chip and cant find it! Now mind you, this is TOTALLY not unusual for me--but the most mind boggling thing is that I didnt get up from my seat at all!!!! So its here...I just obviously cant see it! BBS!! (I HOPE)

Another Whipper Snapper!!

I am soooo in love with the Whipper Snapper Designs! Are they not the most precious evah!??

This card is pretty straight forward other than I popped each animal, so it really does look like they are stacked on top of each other. The dog is double layered, the cat is single and the mouse is on the original page. Oh yeah, and the flower is single popped too. I looove these animals so much!! OK, I really like MOST cute and adorable animals!

More Bunny Butts!!!

Okay, maybe I need to seek counseling? I am sooo in love with the cute little butts!! Anyways THIS stamp is a two part stamp that I bought like 10 years ago. But since I couldnt ever figure out how to put them together and make em look right--Ive never used em. But I kind of like this one! What do you think??

I put liquid appliqué on their tails and then added flock! Theyre soooo cute! Also the fence is a SIZZIX die and I popped it all up to give it a little zing.

And heres the other side of the stamp. I also added Diamond Glaze to the letters and the tips of the paintbrushes to give em a little dimension. SOOO much fun!!

Look more fuzzies!!!

*singing* Monday...Monday!

Well the snow missed us PRAISE GOD!! Its a balmy 21° degrees out there, but the sun is shining and all is well in my world. The kids are both feeling better and were very excited to go back to school today. OK, well HANNAH was, Heather--nah, not so much. And hubby is off to work, tho I know hes NOT excited. A new manager starts for him today. I pray that things go smoothy and they jive well. This day and age with are just thankful for employment.

Wishing you a basketful of springtime smiles! Again...I am hoping that if I stamp enough Springy stuff, mother Nature will catch the hint and take all of her snowflakes and freezing temps away. I am anxious to see pretty flowers, green grass and hang out outside.

Today. Bless someone. Leave a nice comment on their blog, send them a card --JUST CAUSE, how bout put a note on your kids' beds just telling them that you love them. OK, now I know some of you will have to risk your lives to GET to your kids beds (I know I would have to --in Heathers room UGH!) but, go ahead--take that chance! How bout go out and scrape I love you in the frost on your darling dears car...or better yet, start it for him. Go now--have a fantastic day! For today is a day that the Lord has made (even tho he forgot the heat)!!

For Jeanine

Last week while at our weekly stampin meet, my friend Marilyn showed me what another friend of ours had sent her. I just fell in looooove with it and couldnt wait to disect it and make a pattern. Luckily I didnt have to take it a part to figure it out. Robin made hers in Pink and Black and it is soooooo cute. Go → here ← and check out hers!!

I made this one for my dear friend, Jeanine. I have been helping her reorganize her stamp room and this is the color of her room. I hope that she will enjoy it! I know that I had fun making it and soooo cant wait to make another. THANKS AGAIN ROBIN! Hehehehe...and to think, you didnt even send it to ME!!!
