Another Saturday

OK...so I am not doing so hot at the ole Blogging thing lately. I apologize. Things are just crazy nuts here. BUT, here is another challenge for you. Remember the only RULE of the challenge is to use only paper from your stash of scrap papers.
Have a fantastic day! Bless someone!

Pink!

The challenge over at KIMM's Copic Color Challenge this week is PINK!! I looooooves me some pink!! And since my friend Janet was gracious enough to share her new cuppycake stamps I thought it would be a great combo!! If youve been nervous to play with the challenge, this is a FABULOUS week...cause all you have to do is just use PINK!

CUPCAKES...THE OTHER FOOD GROUP

wishing you a sweet birthday

Not a whole lot going on here today, other than I get my babies back! They have been at Grammee & PawPaws for the last few days, and I am anxious for them to come home. Unfortunately its time to start getting ready for school again and all the dreadful stuff that happens as the summer ends.

*sniff* *sniff*

Its not often that one finds an awesome doctor that you truly feel connected to, that you feel like you can relate to them not only as professionals, but also as friends and role models. It is very rare that one feels like the staff and the atmosphere that this doctor presents at their office is inviting, welcoming and encouraging. And also might I add, not just as a $$ either. We often are made out to be idiots, especially when it pertains to our children. When you have some times during flu/strep season that you visit almost every other day for some reason or another...yet they welcome you and try to figure out a solution rather than, patting you on the back and telling you that you are over protective and over reactive. Rarely do doctors look at mom and ask her what her gut feeling is. Now, mind you, if my gut feeling was right all the time, I wouldnt NEED this said doctor...but still--it IS nice to know that those things that God gave us, ARE for a reason. Anyways. We recently learned that our Pediatrician (of the last 6 years) is moving. We are shocked. We are devastated. Though we wish her and her family the very bestest of luck, we miss her already. And that of course is not saying ANYTHING about her replacement, as we did get the honor to meet her and I just know that she too will be fabulous. But really....does Dr. H. HAVE to go? Really? Cmon just another 10 more years and my kids will be out of pediatrics. Cmon, surely her life will wait that long wont it? Funny how we spend so much time worried and wrapped up in our OWN lives that we take for granted all the OTHER things that are happening. Hmpf! I still dont like it. And to be honest...I dont wanta!!

So for the girls' doctor I made this little set. There are the cards that say: WERE MOVING.

And on the inside it says:
Just wanted to let you know how dear
you are to us and we wouldn’t want
to lose touch. So here is our new info:

Address:
Phone Number:

Then I decorated this handydandy tin to hold them all. I hope that she will remember us as she goes on her journey!!

SATURDAY SCRAP SKETCH 1

Hey Guys! Did you miss me? I have missed myself too! Anyways. It was a crazy buzzzy week with family and my oldest's 13th Birthday and and and...well, you get it! Anyways. So I have been playing around in PSE (Photo shop Elements) and making sketches and templates and so on. Then I thought Id come up with a few sketches of my own. Here is my first challenge to you. And as you will see by MY example, it IS a challenge. Go on now, go try it for yourself! Come back with a link if you do!

And here is my rendition. Hmm...ok, so its been awhile since I have been inky. Mojo is slowly starting to flow...just give me a day er so. K?

Okay, so I mentioned that I now have a 13 year old in my house. YIPES! But her Birthday was awesome. I wont bore you to tears with ALL of the details. But I gotta tell ya the bestest one!

All week I had been teasing Heather that I was going to get her a Build A Bear™ for her Birthday. I even went so far as to say that Hannah helped pick it out. I told her that there was just no way that we could afford the grandeose wishes that she had on her list. So, as she opened the present and saw that it WAS a stuffed animal, she did her best to not show her disappointment. But you could tell the child's heart was just broken. As she pulled the dog out of the box he started to ring tho. To which, my brainiac replied...WHY IS IT RINGING?? She thought I had put in a sound to simulate a cell phone. She did finally figure out that there was more to the dog than just fluff and cuteness, and she managed to get her brand new cell phone out of it's belly. She was then, one happy camper!! I was even priveledged enough to get the first text....THANKS MOM!
Worth it all. And truly a Birthday to Remember!

Its celebrations time all week...right???

Over at Kimm's this week there is the Copic Challenge of Patriotic colors. You sooo need to check it out. This is my PTI picnic basket set again. Have I mentione how much I LOVE this set?? My photography is awful and I would go back and retake it (cept I sent em all out)! R29, C0 & B26 are the challenge colors this week. I hope youll play too!!

I am still in Digital Land. I have been having so much fun. I can just click and clunk and not really use a whole lot of brain power. I have TONS more to learn, but I like the fact that I am cropping tons of photos and I am actually getting caught up on some of our more recent stuff.

This is from Saturday night. I am afraid that we didnt do too much celebrating other than going to a friend's house to watch the fireworks...but it was still great.

Today I have not been feeling real good. I dont know if I caught a bug er what, but I have gone from peg to post all day long. I am hoping that my early retreat to bed tonight will help me to recover for a fresh start on tomorrow.
Oh and guess what? I spilled my water on my nightstand last night. It drowned my cell phone. GREAT!! So I have dried it out, but now when I put the battery in the camera flashes nonstop and keeps running like the thing is gonna take off. Isnt that lovely??!!?? Thank GOD for insurance!

I hope that your day was blessed and that things are good with you.

I have a new passion!!

OK....both girls have now created pages of their own and I was able to get another one done this morning. AWESOME!!! I finished reading the book last night. Yes, I read a 261 page book cover to cover in 2 days. THE BOOK is awesome!! In fact I plan to order it so that I can keep one for myself. Or maybe I'll just keep it checked out for forever and never return it to the library. *hehe* Just kidding of course. But its the first book in a LOOOONG time that I can rave about! UBER AWESOME! So I went to Amazon for ya and looked it up. Click HERE and get yourself one too, or at least you can see what I am talking about.

I also went through last night and organized all my embellishments and papers into folders. Do you know how many sites out there offer FREE stuff? I mean, like download and use FREE. Just google free digital elements and holy smokes!!!!

I got me some ribbon, some of those handy dandy little staples, the hardware...oh yeah...and check out that background paper. That started out as blue denim. Now it looks kind of burlappy. SOOOO COOL HUH!!!

I have a new obsessi...er I mean hobby.

I have been wanting to go digi for a long time and just have been too chicken heart to do it. Well then, at the library I checked out the most awesome book I have ever seen. I mean it REALLY spoke English to me. Its called PICTURE YOURSELF CREATING DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKS by LORI DAVIS & SALLY BEACHAM. Its got pictures and words and step by step of how tos in each and every chapter. I mean, seriously. How many HOW TO books do you read cover to cover?? I am litterally reading it cover to cover. It is THAT informative. And the book comes with a CD full of elements!!!!

OK, so here is my first attempt. This is what they call a PLOPPER. I just plopped my photo down in it. Added a bit of text and I added the extra date tag, staple and the puppy print and a few splotches of paint. Basic. But I like it.

THEN! I got brave!! I started with the pink striped paper. I added the florish overlays, the silk flowers, the ribbon, the lace the butterfly the journal box the bow.... OMG! I am learning so much. Like that bow up there! It was originally BLUE! I made it pink, all by myself!!!!! Then added a few shadows, layered it just right, and whala!

I got a little braver with my next attempt. As the background paper was originally an array of oranges and browns. But was able to get it to the blues to match Heathers vest. The colors dont all quite match and if I had put this on paper I probably would have started over at least 5 times. But I figure its a learning process.
I loooove the fact that I have only downloaded a few FREE items and I already have a stock of tons of stuff. In all different colors!
So then, people ask. Now what? Well, I get coupons all the time for photo printing. So I will wait for those to come in and a few at a time I will go get printed. And since I am officially switching to 8x8 albums, it wont cost me a TOTAL fortune to do this. As they will print on 8x10 photo paper. My main reason for this...is one, to cut down on space. Not only on supplies, but also on the albums themselves. I like lumpy bumpy so my albums get pretty thick. And the second is that I have worked hard to make albums for each of the girls. Heather has a book and Hannah has a book. But then whats gonna happen when they go away and take their books with them??? I got nuttin! So my way of doing things is changing now. I am going to make ONE album. Its gonna be MINE, then the girls can make copies for themselves. There will be pics that each of them will not give a flip about and then others that they both will want. But we are a family. And other than little books that we will make for summer vacations and travel and such....well just have the family book.
So now I have the issue of my already bad computer addiction habit. YIKES!

Its Hump day!

Are you all making great plans to celebrate the 4th? We dont have any huge plans, just going to go over to a friends house and watch the fireworks from his back yard. They set em off like less than a quarter of a mile from his house and the view is simply AMAZING! Were hoping to spend some quality time together though.

Yes, sorry folks I am gonna kill ya with the baskets. I am just LOOOOVING them!! I looove all of the different options you can do. Yeah, a bit more work with all of the masking and lining up, but you can litterally get a bagillion different designs. SOO FUN!

Yesterday we had a FANTASTIC day! Went to the park and the library. It was soooo beautiful outside. I was able to get new pics of the girls. So I will update the sidebar soon.

Today its clean house and putz around here for a bit--so not too exciting. But the sun is shining and we are doing great!!

Im thinking its blog candy time soon. Dont you think? Maybe another round of Bingo? Hmmm....a scavenger hunt? Hmmmm....
