Taggin!

I think cause it is spring time is the reason for all of the blog taggin! I got tagged again and I feel so honored to be picked. Kind of makes one feel like the fastest runner or the best dodger of ball...to be PICKED to be on a team~ :D

OK--so here's the rules:

1. Post three random things about yourself.
2. In your post, link to the person who tagged you.
3. Tag at least five other bloggers. Let them know you've tagged them by commenting on their blog with an invite to participate.

1. I got my driver's license when I was 14---WAY TOO YOUNG! In Driver's Ed class I once killed the car 17 times in a 30 minute driving lesson. Thankfully I can honestly say I now can drive alright...both Stick Shift AND Automatic. Though I will avoid parallel parking at all costs. I have been known to drive blocks or skip events all together because of them.

2. 15 years ago I wouldn't eat fish, I HATED coffee and I thought asparagus tasted like trees. Now I love fish...especially sushi, live for Starbucks and looove asparagus. Ha! Proof that you CAN take the country out of the girl. Well, okay....no you cant take it out, but you CAN put a little city in there too!

3. I have the 2nd cellphone I have ever owned. And actually my 1st one still works and is in the drawer. No, it doesnt have a camera, it doesnt have a keypad and it doesnt even support bluetooth. My husband thought I was whackadoo for not getting the RAZOR or the SLIDER or whatever crazy thing they have now...To which I reply...ITS A PHONE!!! *brrrring* *brrrrinnng* Can you hear me now? Yes...okay...then were good!!!

Ha! Those were certainly random! I am off now...a full day of stamping with my buddies and now I am going to hear my baby girl play in a band concert. WOOHOO! First year flute almost over!

---I will be back later to tag my five. THANKS ALLISON FOR THE TAG! That was fun!

Its Monday! Its Monday! Im so glad its Monday!

It's once again a glorious Monday! I hope each of you enjoyed your days with your families. We visited yet another church yesterday and it was FABULOUS!! The preacher spoke about a scripture in Romans. Basically his whole point was...are you walkin the walk? And how many of us as Christians are asleep? It was truly a great passage and the whole service was very inviting. People were sincerely nice and well...Lord Jesus, we might have found a place!!!

Isnt this card great? I love these stamps. Cause you can make it a double decker a single scoop or even take it to the ceiling like this one!!! After I colored the icecream I coated each scoop with a nice layer of glass finish! WOOHOO! I love it!
And the sprinkles on top are puffy paint!!

I also got another fantastic award gifted to me by LORI! This is the circle of friends. And I have sooo many! This will be super difficult to pick. But...here goes.

Jennifer: For always being there for me to rant and rave to.

Chelsey: For listening to my pesky questions and loving me anyways.

Allison Brady: One of the newer blogsites I frequent, because she has shown me what a TRUE Christian is!

Jennifer: Always being uber inspiring.

Jenn: My day to day inspiration! She is my sanity often times when I know I have lost it!

Melinda: My long lost friend! Praise God for the internet as we have found friendship once again!

Go and be blessed!!!--B

Are ya'all sick of the basket yet?

I am just having so much fun with it. I have to keep sharing the different ways I have come up to color it.

Its another glorious and beautiful sunny day here. I am FINALLY feeling like myself again. My tooth is not PERFECT but it sure feels a ton better and I feel like I might make it.

I sure hope everything in your world is wonderful and fantabulous today! What have you created lately?--b

ANOTHER Basket!

This time for the basket I paper pieced it together. Can you tell I am havin a good time with this stamp?? Anyways, this technique is simple, just merely stamp the image on the different colors. If you like to color and shade, remember to use a LIGHTER color of paper to start with. Like the apples are stamped on yellow and then I colored the red on there.

I sure hope that your day is also pieced together with good things.
I am hanging in there. My tooth is about to send me into orbit. Its sposed to feel BETTER right? I endured yesterday and now its sposed to be perfect??? Huh? Huh? Huh? Of course it doesnt matter in the fact that I have the pain tolerance of ZERO! I will make it through, but I will have to whine through it all...you know that right?
Go now, create something and bless someone with it....enjoy your day!!!
B

Basket news again!

You know when you get a stamp that has the image colored for you on the mount. Isnt it hard to break away from those colors? Isnt it hard to IMAGINE the image in any other way than what is on the picture? Here is the BASKET again--but I tried to make it more feminine.
Im off to the dentist today for a root canal. I am NOT excited to say the least. Can I just morph myself into the evening when it is all over? Anyone wanta go for me??
And a special prayer I ask for from you today. Maw went home to be with Jesus in the night. She's at peace now. She's reunited with her loved ones and walking again. That within itself is NOT a bad thing. Its a wonderful and glorious thought. But it will be a difficult week for us as we travel through the next few days. I will have to tell the girls this evening when they get home. And then of course follow through with the ceremonies later in the week. Pray for my husband and his family as they bid farewell to a miraculous, God fearing woman, who truly was a princess of the Lord. I know that I am ever so grateful for the unconditional love she always had. Her prayers could be felt. Her encouragement always present. I praise God for the gift of letting me meet such a beautiful person. May I remember those traits for always and be encouraged to follow.
Go now...be blessed. B

Another glorious Monday!

I just looove this stamp! Okay...so its probly not one that I would grab off the shelf at a store, but since getting it from a garage sale (THANKS ROBIN!) I have completely fallen in love with it! It is sooo much fun to color!
As most of you know, I am one of those sick people that really LOVE Mondays! Everything returns to a nice schedule after a usual weekend of chaos and absolutely no schedule. Kiddies are off to school and darling hubby is off to work. Leaving me to gather my thoughts, do household chores and enjoy the morning sun. Dont get me wrong. I love being with my family more than anything, but I looooooooooooooove those quiet Monday mornings.
Last night we went to Zuma (which is a funland with arcade games, mini golf, bumper cars...etc etc.) and I couldnt help but watch this large family Birthday party. They were all African American. Now mind you I am not telling you this to point out differences or lash out slander -- I am saying its fascinating how God made us sooo different. Anyways, I was watching the children and just couldnt help but smile. There were 4 or 5 little bitty toddlers that were just adorable. The girls had their hair all up in a bagillion braids. Their naturally tan skin made em look so healthy. I have 2 little girls and tho I believe they are the most beautiful of all, these children had an air about them. Something I havent ever seen in a white child. They danced with each step. When they smiled they smiled from their tippy toes. They looked more like works of art than little bodies. PLEASE PLEASE to all my friends that are black, this is NOT a call against colored. Like I said...it was sheer amazement at the proof that God is a miracle worker. He can make us all so much alike yet so vastly different. I am sooooo grateful that we all exist together.
So what are YOU doing today? Notice any miraculous differences around you lately? Stop and take a moment to thank Jesus for the great things in life we get to experience. --be blessed...B

Its another beautiful day

WOWZERS! You gotta love Springtime in Tennessee. The flowers and trees are all blooming and each and every day that you walk out you see something else that has come back to life.

Every once in awhile I get the urge to drag out my cross stitch and work up a couple of things. Though, I have to admit I dont do it often cause I tend to go overboard with it and do it every waking moment. But I found these little kits in the clearance isle the other day and I thought they would be sooo cute! And fast! Ha! And I could put them on a card!!!

Next, I wanted to share an email with you--My friend Allison (I guess she thought I needed a good emotional flood this morning) sent this on to me. Please take a moment to watch it. It is amazing! (And really, I DO thank you Allison!)

This film was made by a 15 year old girl. The following is the hottest thing on the internet and on Fox News today. Lizzie Palmer who put this YouTube program together is 15 years old. There have been over 3,000,000 hits as of this morning. In case you missed it, here it is. Watch all of it.......and, pass it on!! http://www.youtube.com/v/ervaMPt4Ha0&autoplay=1

For now, I am off! I have a severely neglected yard that needs some TLC that I am gonna tackle today. I pray each of you have a fabulous day! Make it blessed-B

Hi Friends...Its me, Margaret

HEY GUYS! I am back! Its been a heck of a week. Both kids and hubby have gone through the stomach virus and I am STILL battling a tooth ache. Dentist didnt do any work to me on Tuesday when I went it, just got antibiotics and an appointment. UGH! But, I DO believe that everyone is on the mend and everyone is back in school. Where does that leave me? At home with backed up chores and lots to do. So I have been busy busy.
BUT! Look at this stamp set. Its a new one that Marilyn got and I am so jealous. How much fun is it?? I cant wait to meet up with her again so that I can stamp some more images.

Whats up with you today? I hope your schedules are allowing you to be more creative than I have been lately!

Have a fantastic day!--Make it blessed...B

Monday Monday!

This is going from last week's SCS Sketch challenge. Since I was gone all weekend I wasnt able to do my scrap stash, but I did want to get ONE card thrown out there. The challenge was to use an offset oval. So here is mine! Of course...using my housemouses and colored with Copics. I added a little bit of glitter to the flowers and also in the middle of the stamped flowers on the background.

The garage sale at Scrapbooks and More last Friday was a total trip! Wow! How much fun! It was like a feeding frenzy. There had to have been 100 people or more stuffed into that little room. I got some fantastic deals and I am so excited with my my finds. Tho, the store didnt open til 10, we started lining up around 830 or so...and it was a big deal. GREAT FINDS! Great fun! If you missed it...trust me--youd better make plans for next fall's shindig...soooo worth it!

ITS MONDAY! My most favoritest of the week!! Our weekend was great. The rendevous was wonderful and as always it was great to see all of our friends. We worked really hard and we laughed even harder. I am reminded every time we go, how grateful I am for all of those people. The ones that I KNOW would give their lives for me--or anything else that I needed. Amazing how blessed we are.

So how are YOU? Did you have a good weekend? Are you creating something today? Go be blessed!--b

Keep the Mojo cup a flowin!!

Nothin brings the Mojo back like a Bella!! Isnt she cute? She is colored with Copics. UBER AWESOME markers I might add. This is some of the paper that I got at the SuperStore a couple of weeks ago. I cant for the life of me get the photo to turn out right, but in real life the blues seem to match a little better. Hmmm...or maybe they dont and I am just blind? In either case it feels good to be able to make a card come together. I was scrolling back through my posts and OMG! Its been like weeks since I have posted anything worth looking at. I am grateful for all of you who stuck around. What was that??

On any count. Its Friday! We have a big fur rendy this weekend so my day is gonna be spent getting ready for that. But I certainly DO plan to get my fingers inky before I leave--dont wanta lose the Mojo again!
Be blessed!

Furry Friday is back!--cept its Thursday

No, I dont make it a habit to dress the balls in our home, but it seemed to be the closest thing in size that I had to model this making. This is 100% beaver. It took 2 beavers to do it. They call this the RUSSIAN Style trooper hat. Yay~ its done! Now on to teddy bears!

Hannah has entered that silly stage where her little baby teeth are slowly falling out. She can truly be singing the ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY TWO FRONT TEETH now. Isnt it adorable???
And Twink....ohhhhhh Twink. I have been gathering papers and receipts for taxes. And do you NOTICE where she thought she might need to sleep?? I read somewhere (on someones blog) yesterday that a cat has the ingenious ability to find the place to sleep that is the least convenient for you. HA! I wonder if this qualifies as that? Yes, those ARE the papers that I was working with up until I got up to get the camera! ~sigh~ Gotta love her!!!

How was YOUR day? Did you create anything??

Apr 9, 2008

hmph

I am having serious trouble with my MoJo. I whipped out this card today cause my friends Birthday is on Friday and if I dont get this in the mail TODAY it wont make it. But am I overly thrilled. NO! I just cant seem to get it together. Maybe its the fact that you cant even SEE my desk?? I have sooo many projects going on that I am not getting ANY of them done right.

I hope that YOUR day is a little less cluttered!

An award!!!

I was recently gifted the honor of the Arte Y Pico award. How awesome is this??? My dear friend Lori (yes I have mentioned her before) is constantly rewarding me with things. Thankfully the gift I get daily is her friendship. I love her to pieces. She is uber talented, an awesome Christian example and just simply a beautiful person.
So she sent me this award and now I am sposed to gift it to 5 others. Now, this is extremely difficult as I read a LOT of blogs. I also visit a lot that wouldnt know me if I said boo to their face. Plus since its such a "hip" thing to do it seems like all my friends have them. And well...*polishing nails* I got lots more than 5 friends, so if you arent listed, please no hard feelings...as I love you and your blogs!
OK...so heres what I gotta do:
1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community, no matter what language.
2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
3) Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.
4) Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of
"Arte y Pico" blog , so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5) To show these rules.
1. Monkey Giggles is one of my favorite stops. She is sooo inspiring and so much fun! I love reading her view on mommy hood and lifes every day happenings!
2. Lisa at Blessed a Latte' is amazing! She is so energentic and how she keeps up with everything is an amazement to me. I LOVE her creativity.
3. Amy at Heartfelt Greetings is another wonderful person. She reminds me that despite our struggles its not impossible to be beautiful. Her work of course is amazing. And her faith in Jesus is all the more inspiring!
4. Debbie at The Shoe Closet keeps me rolling! I just KNOW I would love her if I ever met her in person!
5. Kirsten's Confessions of a Naptime Stamper is one of the very first blogs that I frequented. It is her that opened my eyes to Copic markers and pushed me forward in my love for coloring. Her style is soooo awesome and so fresh! I looove everything she does! And she makes it all look so easy!!
OK...I think that is it! Thanks again for this award!!
**EDITED BECAUSE KIRSTEN WAS ALREADY AWARDED THIS (RIGHTFULLY SO) SO I AM NAMING: SARA at Tweaks & Designs cause she is just AWESOME!!!!**

SPRING CLEANING!

As I was reading this morning. In Jeremiah 7:3 (THE MESSAGE) it says something to the effect of making ourselves and our places clean. Which also reminded me of a Shaker saying that says that the spirit cannot reside somewhere that is not clean. That we must make not only our personal bodies worthy of residence for the Lord but also our own homes. I am working diligently on "straightening up" both of them. Remember, if Jesus called today and said He was coming for dinner...would you freak out? Or is your home worthy of His presence?

Isnt this little note book adorable! Found it in Michaels Dollar Bins. It was just plain, but imagine it--they had matching ribbon right there beside them! They just screamed to go together. I thought it was just too cute!

So today...go and be blessed! Focus on becoming a worthy temple of the spirit!--B

Hi friends...

Wasnt it JUST Monday? Gosh. Where did the week go? I guess that it has nothing to do with the fact that I have had the cold from heck and have spent my days going from peg to post? *hmph* Who knows. But in any case it IS almost Monday.

I wanted to share with you my SATURDAY as a bunch of us got together for stampin!! Our Tennessee Stampers group had our annual Knoxville meet this weekend and it was so awesome to see everyone again. The good friends and of course all of the Newbies.

This card taught by Kathie was sooooo cool! As you can see in the first shot the image is simply black and then as you pull up on the slider it gives way to COLOR. Neato huh?

This is my ill attempt with powder kegs and layering the colors. As you can tell I ended up with a splash of color everywhere. It was fun. But I do believe I got glitter in more places than on my card.
And one of the Journal books that Sandy taught. Tho I was an idiot and bound it backwards at first. Sealing the book up tight. Cute and sooo easy (IF you know how to bind it right)!

And the dryer sheet technique. I soooooo love this look!

OK...so what great things do YOU have planned for the week. "ANYTHING" in particular? Maybe YOU need to update YOUR blog? I have done mine! Now its your turn!

Go--be blessed!--B
